Who might be mistreating a vulnerable person?

A vulnerable person can be mistreated by many different people, including a caregiver such as a health or social services worker, or a service provider. The abuser can also be someone close to them, like a son or daughter, a parent, a friend or a neighbour.

Who can report mistreatment?

Anyone who witnesses mistreatment can report it, including family members, caregivers and professionals. A person experiencing mistreatment can also file a complaint directly.

How to file a complaint

Contact the Complaints Commissioner of the institution where a person has or is experiencing mistreatment:

  • Inuulitsivik Health Centre (IHC)
  • Ungava Tulattavik Health Centre (UTHC)
  • Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS)

Together, we can create a community where everyone feels safe, valued and protected.
