In 2025, the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services proudly celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Nunavik First Responders Program through Shining in Service: Nunavik First Responders. This year-long initiative honoured the dedication, resilience, and vital contribution of the region’s first responders who ensure the safety and well-being of Nunavimmiut.
Community Nominations
From March to July 2025, Nunavimmiut were invited to nominate first responders who made an exceptional impact in their communities. We received 57 nominations from across the region; each one reflecting profound gratitude and admiration.
Although only one nominee per community could be featured in the campaign, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all first responders for their commitment, professionalism, and community spirit.
Shining in Service Campaign
Beginning in October 2025, the Shining in Service campaign highlighted first responders from all 14 Northern Villages. Each story showcased leadership, teamwork, and compassion; values that define the program and strengthen our communities.

2026 Nunavik First Responders Calendar
To commemorate this milestone, a special edition 2026 Nunavik First Responders Calendar has been produced. It will be available in Northern Villages starting in January 2026 (limited edition).
